The Shire’s top homewares stores

The Shire is no stranger to beautiful homewares stores. In fact, there’s a bounty to choose from. Whether you’re in the market for a complete home makeover, a stylish new addition or just a touch of interior inspo, these must-visit Shire-based stores have you covered…

Girl Meraki
If you’re ready to set your inner stylist alight, look for the pale blue door next time you’re passing the inviting Woolooware village. Owned by local mother and daughter duo, Paige and Maria, the women behind the brand are bright, bold and full of passion. When you enter their charming space, you’ll see exactly why their motto speaks for itself… “soul, creativity, and love”.

Girl Meraki stocks a beautifully curated collection of eclectic and artisanal pieces, cushions, throws, home staples and more. For us, their everlasting faux floral bouquets are a highlight; you’ll be tricked into thinking they’re the real thing. After all, there’s nothing like a bunch of flowers to brighten up a space.

Paige and Maria are ready to help you pick pieces that will create layers, textures and tones to suit your home and personality. Hot tip: enjoy a coffee from their new neighbour, Playground Cafe, while you browse away. 45 Wills Rd, Woolooware

HUTWOODS
Located in the same vicinity as Ur Place, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t drop by HUTWOODS while you’re there. HUTWOODS stocks the highest quality wood wick candles, home fragrance, and natural bath and body products, all handmade in their Caringbah store. Not only do their candles look the part, but their range will certainly indulge your senses. For a scent bound to impress, opt for The Lychee & Peony, Sweet Pea & Vanilla or Fresh Coffee (trust us with this one).  91 Parraweena Road, Caringbah

Fred & Co
Miranda-based interior store, Fred & Co is home to a curated collection of homewares that focus on casual elegance. Described by owner Ashling as must-have items for the home, the Fred & Co store works to complement their bespoke interior design services. As Ashling says, “great design is timeless design”.  While you’re there, pop down to Raw Clothing for a quick winter wardrobe update.  Shop 3, 105-107 Miranda Road, Miranda

This Is Not A Shop
As the name suggests, This is not a Shop is different to your average homewares store. Mysterious in nature, an indoor jungle as such, the store will take you on a voyage far from it’s Cronulla Mall location. Stocking unusual plants and pots, dried flowers, fresh greenery, vases, lighting, mirrors and more, it’s no surprise owner Andy has a strong career history in floristry. With each piece unique, distinctive and quirky, your home will be full of both character and charm after a visit here. As Andy says, “This is not a Shop, is not just a store, it’s an experience: a celebration of love, life and beauty…” Shop 5, 57 Cronulla Street, Cronulla

Now you’re in the know, support local and style your home with a curation of pieces from these Shire-based homewares stores. After all, there’s nothing like the thrill of a successful shopping trip, we look forward to seeing you after lockdown.
